G2 have booked their spot in the last-four stage at the ESL Pro League Season 3 finals after beating OpTic Gaming 16-7 on Cobblestone.

Starting out on the Terrorist side of the map, OpTic started off the game with a 3-0 lead after taking the pistol round thanks to a double entry frag from William "⁠RUSH⁠" Wierzba inside B. When G2 bought up, however, the impetus of the game changed drastically as they won eight of the following rounds to bring the scoreline to 8-4 in their favor.

OpTic then picked up back-to-back rounds following two B pushes, the second of which saw Peter "⁠stanislaw⁠" Jarguz bag four kills, but G2 held strong and stopped an A split in the final round to take a 9-6 half-time lead.

G2 through to the Pro League playoffs

G2 further grew their lead by winning the pistol round as Terrorist with a B push, with Edouard "⁠SmithZz⁠" Dubourdeaux getting three kills to his name. With a crushing economy control, the Frenchmen continuously kept OpTic's defense in check and reached match point without dropping a single round.

The Canadian team then finally managed to hold back their European counterparts, but it was too little, too late as Richard "⁠shox⁠" Papillon's men hit back right after to seal a spot in the last-four stage of the tournament.
